A day spent at Inversand

23 05 2007

Just to write a quick summation of today’s trip, things were certainly more productive than my last trip. While I found plenty of clam shells, sponges, brachiopods, shark teeth, and the like, while the group as a whole found some large crocodile scutes, a huge portion of a ratfish jaw, and some well-preserved bony fish elements. Needless to say, at the end of the day I was covered in glauconitic greensand, but it certainly was a good day at at the pit. Hopefully I’ll have some photos up tomorrow, but I’m way too tired to write anything of substance at the moment.
